About Us
The founder and framebuilder at Filament Bikes is Richard Craddock. He competed in road races across Europe on amateur teams then later worked in product development in the bike industry.
During those years he wanted to improve continually and find new and better ways of doing things. Eventually the time came when he needed to have the materials in his hands and make his own bikes. So the workshop was tooled and the process developed. It has been a path of dedication to the craft and satisfying to see Olympic and World medals won on his frames.
We combine engineering and craft so unlike most of the bike industry we actually make our frames. We do it at our own workshop in Worcestershire, UK. When you talk to us you get straight through to the workshop where we can discuss geometry and carbon fibre laminates to tailor something unique for you. We can make some unusual designs so if you have an idea for something new let’s talk about it.
We love bikes. We want them to fit well and ride wonderfully. And we want each commission to be cherished by its owner for years.
